6. Institutional arrangement

6.1. There will be a high-level National Drug Control Steering and Coordinating Committee to provide guidance, maintain coordination and harmony, and monitor and evaluate the applicable drug control work. The format of the committee will be as follows: 1. Hon'ble Home Minister Chairman 2. Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Member 3 Secretary, Ministry of Finance 4. Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Member 5. Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communication Member 6. Secretary, Ministry of Education and Sports Member 7. Secretary, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare Member 8. Secretary, Ministry of Health and Population Member 9. Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Member 10 Secretary, National Planning Commission Secretariat Member 11. Inspector General of Police, Member of Police Headquarters 12. Chief, National Research Department Member 13. Representatives, national and international non-governmental organizations 8 people (with at least three female representatives) members 14. Chief Drug Control Officer Member (Secretary) 6.2 There will be the following Drug Control Executive Committee to carry out the responsibility of monitoring and evaluating the activities and solving the problems at the implementation level by maintaining effective coordination and harmony in the implementation of the drug control program.

6.3 Widespread awareness in the field of drug prevention and controlAnd the National Drug Demand Reduction Campaign will be organized as a widely participatory and autonomous organization to conduct awareness programs, provide quality delivery of therapeutic and humanitarian services, develop necessary human resources.

6.4. By strengthening and empowering the current form and capacity of the current drug control law enforcement unit, a drug control bureau will be established as a specialized mechanism under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Nepal. In addition, arrangements will be made to conduct the specialized service of the Nepal Police personnel involved in the special task force in this bureau.
